Poor, plain Jane has recently ended up in Birmingham, Alabama after leaving behind an old life, and name, in Arizona. Working as a dog-walker to the rich residents of the bougie neighborhood Thornfield Estates, Jane finds herself literally knocked off her feet by Eddie Rochester, a widower who is looking to fill the recently-made hole in his life. Eddie is charming, wealthy and good-looking, so Jane is caught off guard when he suddenly shows an interest in her. Their romance is a whirlwind and a shock to all who know the couple, but nobody is more surprised than Jane herself, and she’s committed to leave the old version of herself behind and become Mrs. Rochester.
